Snapshot : A Photography Template : Blogger

June 11, 2010  |  Shop, Templates

Snapshot – A Photography Blog is a simple to use Blogger template complete with a flash slideshow function & dropdown menu.

The one column photoblog has a huge 950px wide picture area!

The post calendar {month & date} are magazine styled with a custom font for the day’s number and Welcome title to match.

Font types are hard coded within the template’s html/css. The text color, post-title color, month & welcome text color can all be changed in Blogger designer under advanced settings. If you are familiar with css any of the font elements can be easily changed under edit html.

For advanced users – the two custom font files can be edited in sifr css & js files. These must be self hosted to edit.

The layout is all widgetized for easy publishing – logo area, sticky post & four footer columns.. all drag & drop in the admin.

This template is available for immediate download after purchase.  Unzip the download file for step by step instructions.

By purchasing this template you agree to use only on your own blog, not to resell, repackage or distribute in any way. You also agree that the design credit will remain intact. Thank you so much.

  3. Hi Timi,
I love your new site look.So fresh and clean and beautiful and…..
You always delight and amaze with your super star talents!

  4. hi there. i have no idea how to do the drop down menu! please help. and i don’t see a tutorial so i just wasn’t sure!!!!
    thanks,
    heather

    • Hi Heather,

There’s an example of the dropdown menu code and an explanation of how to change out the titles and links with your own in the instructions pdf file. Email me for help if you need. I think I will write a tutorial on the menu (good idea!).

  5. timi…beautiful as always!

  6. I love this! If we add the $10 install, could you also resize a couple photos for the slideshow?

    • Hi Erika,

If you make it easy on me and email the photos attached to your Blogger info after purchase I would be happy to post them for you.

  7. Thanks for the template, I love it!

I’m having problems changing the background tile though – I replace the url and then I just end up with a blank background?! Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

    thanks
    Nikki

  8. Hi Nikki,

I emailed you back but, I would need a link to tell you exactly what is wrong in your url code.

  9. Is there any easy way to replace the custom font with another one to match my logo font? Can I pay you to have this done?

  10. I would love to buy this and have you install it! I wondered if you add the photos and the little tabs when you do the install? Also would the pretty background paper be the same as the sample? I am the reason they wrote those “computers for dummies!” Thanks so much & I’ll look forward to hearing from you! Michelle

    • I should have added that I will be happy to pay for the extra work! We have a new baby and I guess my head is in a fog! Thanks again!

    • Hi Michelle,

When I install a template it will appear exactly like the sample then you would need to create the slides, pages and add menu items or you can email me to get a quote on doing these things for you if needed.

  11. Looooove this new look. Sent you an email w/ ? about background~ Can’t wait to hear back! Did I mention I looooove this new look. You are awsome!

  12. Hey there! Is everything customizable? For example, can I use my own background image? I am experienced with customizing what is in my blogger stuff now, both in the page elements and in the html code… but I’ve never purchased a template — only free ones. So I don’t know what to expect. What about the little swirlly thing? If I design my own, can I use that (if I know how to link to the html jpg code etc.)? Thanks for answering!

    • Hi Carey,

Yes, you can change the background image in the html (very easy). This particular template has a few elements that can be changed in the new Blogger template designer such as the body font and color. The welcome title, widget title and date number are all a custom font that can be changed but only if self hosting all of the files then rewriting a line on an external file (not super easy but possible). The post divider can be changed deep in the template code – click expand code to find. The top divider (below the logo) is in a widget so very easy to change.

  13. Thank you for the wonderful blog template.

  14. is there a way to make a side bar blogger chat? I am a teacher and I use blogger with my students and parents. I would like to be able to chat with them and haven’t been able to do that.

  15. LOVE this so very much! Two questions:
    1. Will you come out with a WordPress version? I currently have blogger, but am looking to move to WordPress very soon. I’d love a version of this there!

    2. Are the editing processes intuitive and easy, or will I need to go Google HTML stuff?

    Thanks! Lovely work!

    • Hi,

I may do a WordPress version.

The slideshow is a list of url links within a gadget & the dropdown menu is an unordered html list {so there is some code} but not too hard.

  16. hey Timi, I am using the slideshow at the top but only using two slides, I think the blog thinks I have 3 and therefore there is a slight pause when the site is loading before the pics in the slide show starts, can you tell me how to fix this?

    thank you

    • hmmm… Is the first url where is says “active” a valid link (not broken/no errors)? another idea.. copy and paste the second url again so there is three – the second picture will show a little longer but maybe it’ll fix the loading. Email me if it doesn’t work.

  17. LOVE this blog template! I think I might have to pick this one up. I use blogger but don’t know too much of the advanced. Think this would be an easy one for me?

    • Hi Pam,

I would read the slideshow tutorial – click tutorials, it says “A Simple Photo..” but they are both the same (code wise). The dropdown menu is html as well.

  18. Hi,
I was wondering what the “we install” includes. I am pretty inexperienced with html and blogs in general, and am worried this may be too complicated for me.
    Thanks!
    Becky

    • Hi Becky,

If you choose to have the template installed it would appear exactly like the sample template in your Blogger account. You would still need to add your logo image link, slides for the slideshow and titles/urls to the menu.

  19. Hi, I would love to have this template for my blog. I have a couple of questions. Do you send instructions on how to do everything on the blog to customize it? For instance, I would like to have a drop down menu on my blog, (and I see this one has that possibility!), but I have no idea how to make that happen. I don’t know the first thing about how to get the links! I need serious help with this kind of stuff. Secondly, I would like to know if you install it, what does that entail? Do I simply give you all my log in information and you go into the site and put it all together for me? Thanks for you help in this matter, I am really excited to get started with this great looking template.

    • Hi Tammie,

The install includes an exact copy of the sample loaded into your Blogger account.

You would need to know how to link the menu and add slides to the slideshow.

      • Do you provide instructions on how to link the menu and all the other options that are available? Thanks, I like the look of it so much, but if the instructions aren’t there, I wouldn’t even know how to do it!

        • Yes, there are instructions included but they assume a basic understanding of html, uploading photos to the web, copy & pasting links etc…

I suggest reading the tutorial on creating a slideshow before purchasing. Just want to make sure it’s a good template for you.

  20. Hi! I love the look of this template and am considering purchasing it.. if I have an existing Blogger blog, will all my old content be carried over once I get this template, or do I have to start fresh?
    Thanks!
    Rachael

  21. I would be very interested in a WordPress version of this! It’s beautiful!

  22. Would anyone care to share how their blog turned out after purchase I just purchased it and am still trying to get it organized I’d like to see how someone else handled it. Thanks!

  23. I LOVE my new blog look! Your instructions were easy-peasy and I smile every time that I look at my blog. I thought that I would have to switch to WordPress to get the look that I wanted and then I found you through Creative Mama. Thank you so much for all of your hard work in designing this amazing template and for your thoughtful, easy to follow instructions! Delight!

  24. I just downloaded the template and attempted to submit my first post but the day of the post is displaying as “Thursday” and not “12.” What do I do?

    • Hi,

In the last part of the instructions it tells how to set the date but… basically, this is it –
****VERY IMPORTANT! to allow calendar to show properly go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Formatting’ and change the Date
Header Format to same as example – 11 June 2010****

  25. Hands down the best blogger templates I have seen on the interenet, love them. My question though, I notice the slideshows for the top are faily uniform, do the photos for the flickr set have to all be horizontal? does it handle vertical photos well? or at all? Also, what if I wanted to have a static header with a my logo at the top rather than a slideshow, is that possible> Thanks

    • Hi Dennis,

      Thank you!

The slides can be any size but the template is set for 984px wide so the images show edge to edge. You can definately have a static header instead.
